I'm giving this thing a try- juicing. I'm not a hundred percent sold on it but I am finding that come fruit and veggie combinations are delish. My favorite morning "snack" juice has been spicy carrot and grapefruit. I love this juice because of it's bright flavor, it's light and the pepper and citrus really helps wake me up. By having it about 11 am in the morning prevents me from reaching for cookies, or sugary coffee.
This juice is can be as simple as three ingredients, carrots, grapefruit and a dash of cayenne pepper. You can also add a few other things as you have them, or as the case maybe, you need to use them up.
Spicy Carrot Grapefruit Juice
Makes 4 cups
- 4 large orange carrots
- 2 large grapefruits, peeled
- 1 lemon, peeled
- 1 inch knob of ginger
- dash of cayenne
Juice all ingredients, top with a dash of cayenne pepper (a little goes a long way)
A few other variations would be to add a few stalks of celery, a cuke, lime or mix in some orange juice to make it a little sweeter.
